Paris Air Show 2009

Paris Air Show 2009

On Sunday, June 21, I attended the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport. Le Bourget is the airport where Charles Lindbergh landed in 1927 after his 35 hour solo Atlantic crossing. By the way, he was 25 years old at the time!

The highlight of the show, and the main reason I went, was the Airbus A380. I had never seen it before and at this show there were two on display. One on the ground and another in the air for the afternoon air show.

The Paris Air Show only happens every other year. I had missed it 2 years ago so I made sure to make arrangements early this year. The grandstand seats were sold out for both weekend days this year, but not before I had purchased my tickets!

This video is 18 minutes long (so get a beverage) and shows some of the highlights of the show, including the trade show part of it (exhibitors selling all sorts of stuff), the static airplanes on the ground and the air show in the afternoon. The air show portion was 4 hours long.

  1. I’ve been to the Paris Air Show. Your video is not bad at all.

  2. Your Paris Air Show video is fabulous, gave me goosebumps! Even the clouds were perfect.

  3. Thank you! Yes, the clouds were great that day. It would not have been as nice if the sky had been only blue.

  4. Just GREAT !
Feeling I missed something I should focus on.

  5. Thanks for adding your comment. Yes, there was a lot happening, even during the 4-hour air show itself it was hard to know where to look since there were airplanes taxiing on the ground and always one in the air.

What do you think?
